Symposium for Gao
We are planning to the international symposium in remembrance of Prof. Yongqi Gao:
The Ocean, Sea Ice and Northern Hemisphere Climate
The Symposium will be held in the second week of September, 2022, both physically in Bergen (for EU/US participants) and in Beijing/Nanjing (for Chinese participants) and interconnected virtually.
Venue:
Physically at two venues:
The Grand Bergen, Bergen, Norway
&
TBD, Beijing/Nanjing, China
Sessions
In the Symposium we have selected key topics on which Yongqi has been working through his scientific journey. And the Symposium will be structured along six thematic areas:
- Tibet plateau and high mountain weather and climate
- Ocean circulation and marine pollutants modelling
- High and middle latitude teleconnections and Eastern Asia monsoon
- Arctic sea ice and polar climate
- Climate variability and predictability
- Climate Impact on the Environment and Society
We welcome abstracts on any of the above areas. The contributions may be published in a Special Issue of Advances in Atmospheric Sciences subject to standard peer-review process.
The participation of the symposium is free of charge, but one need to cover his/own travel cost. However, there is limited funding to support Early Career Scientist to travel Bergen for the symposium.
Registration deadline: 1 July 2022
(The abstract submission deadline may be extended. So please first register your attendence before the registration deadline. The registration deadline for the participants in China will likely be extended to later July)
Please register and optionally register an abstract by filling in the required fields and press 'Submit'. Please make one registration per participation or presentation (if multiple presentations).
The registration form cannot be edited later, but you may resubmit it; older versions will be ignored.
